Joe Gallo
For Joe, the guitar has been a lifelong adventure in performance, education, and composition. Growing up in the Baltimore area, he had the good fortune of studying under Zoe Johnstone Stewart, a Peabody instructor who fostered Joe's love for rock while guiding him toward classical guitar. From there he pursued metal in high school, jazz extensively at American University, and classical guitar and composition abroad in Vienna, Austria. This diversified background helps Joe expand his students' horizons, guiding them to their ideal learning experience on guitar, ukulele or piano.
The Colorado music scene has given Joe a plethora of performance experience with countless groups. He is currently the lead guitarist for Half Maxx, Jason Brandt and the Build Out, Swade Brigade, San Leandro, Earth Creature, Super Premium Ultra Deluxe, as well as various wedding and event bands. With Joe, these groups have performed at many Colorado cornerstones, including the Fox Theater, Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, Roots Music Project, The Sheridan Opera House, Little Bear Live, Two Moons Music Hall, Dazzle Denver, Globe Hall and many more.
Joe instills this love of live music in his students, encouraging them to participate in recitals with the positivity of "sharing your progress". This empowers students of all levels to gain performance experience while limiting anxiety. Joe has a BA in performance guitar and a passion for music theory.
